No Cavity Club

01/19/2020

February is Children’s Dental Health Month. Oral care is very important for all ages. Good oral hygiene habits need to start early. Although, we start out with “baby teeth” that fall out, those teeth are still very important. Baby teeth are important for growth and development. They hold the spaces for the permanent adult teeth. If baby teeth become decayed, the decay can spread to other teeth. If decay is left untreated it can lead to infection and affect the overall health. It has been found that poor dental health can lead to poor nutrition and poor performance in school. Children should be brushing at least two times a day and flossing should be introduced as soon as two teeth are erupted side by side. Sugary snacks and drinks such as pop, juices, and sports drinks should be limited. Children should have a dental check up every six months.

We are pleased to announce that we are starting a “No Cavity Club” for kids age 12 and younger. Starting on Feb. 1, 2020 Any child who visits our office for a regular dental check up and does not have any cavities will become an official member. Members will receive a certificate and an entry to our quarterly drawing for a special prize. There is an opportunity to earn a bonus entry. If a parent would like, they may post a picture of their cavity free child on Facebook and tag Morgantown Dental Group. Participation is voluntary.
